What is a Retail Health Clinic?
Retail health clinics are clinics staffed by medical professionals who provide basic medical services to “walk-in” patients. Usually in a major pharmacy or retail store. Care is given by a physician’s assistant or nurse practitioner. For HMO members, no referral from your primary doctor is required for services to be covered.
What is a Walk-In Doctor's Office?
Walk-In doctor’s offices are offices that don’t require you to be an existing patient or have an appointment. Can handle routine care and common family illnesses. Care is typically given by a credentialed primary care doctor. For HMO members, a referral from your primary doctor is required for services to be covered.
What is an Urgent Care Clinic?
Urgent care centers are a group of doctors who treat conditions that should be looked at right away but aren’t as severe as emergencies. Can often do x-rays, lab tests and stitches. Care is typically given by a credentialed primary care doctor. For HMO members, a referral from your primary doctor is required for services to be covered.
