What is a Retail Health Clinic?
Medical clinics, located in pharmacies and other retail outlets, that are staffed by Nurse Practitioners (NPs) or Physician Assistants (PAs). Services are limited to routine primary care and the treatment of common illnesses for adults and children.
What is an Urgent Care Center without x-rays?
This is a physician practice that treats patients without requiring that they be an existing patient or that they have an appointment and that can provide routine primary care and treatment of common family illnesses for adults and/or children. These facilities may not be equipped to do x-rays, lab tests, or stitches. If you need one of these types of services you should go to an Urgent Care Center.
What is an Urgent Care Center with x-rays?
This is a group of doctors who treat conditions that should be looked at right away but aren’t as severe as emergencies. Services available include x-rays, lab tests, and stitches. Care is typically given by a credentialed primary care doctors. For HMO members, a referral from your primary doctor is required for services to be covered.
